A 33-year-old tribal woman, who was allegedly a victim of rape, has died in the Medak district of Telangana, as reported by local authorities on Sunday. The woman, who worked as a daily wage laborer, had left her home on Friday for work.
Discovery and Medical Response
Residents found her unconscious beneath a tree in the Kulcharam mandal on Saturday morning and promptly notified the police. Authorities noted that she had visible injuries on her head.
According to police officials, the woman was a mother of five children. Initially, she was taken to a local hospital but was later referred to a facility in Hyderabad. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries while en route on Saturday night.
Legal Actions and Ongoing Investigation
Based on a complaint filed by her husband, the police initially registered a case for attempted rape and murder. However, following her death, the charges have been upgraded to murder. Authorities are currently investigating reports of gang rape and are reviewing CCTV footage as part of their inquiry.
